Novell is looking for a Product Sales Specialist to sell our data center management products and solutions (virtualization, storage, systems management, SUSE Linux) in a defined territory. You will work closely with our channel partners (primarily regional and national systems integrators) in a “sell-with” model and develop the appropriate solution approach for each of the enterprises targeted.


 


 


 


Within your territory, you will be able to sell to all large and very-large commercial accounts (excluding current strategic accounts) in generating $2 million in net new revenue annually. You will sell the entire line of data center products; other reps will be selling other products. You will work closely with your partners in jointly developing leads, sales strategies and tactics and in closing deals. You and your partners will match Novell’s Solutions to the client’s business issues, while working closely with your assigned Technology Sales Specialist.


 


 


 


You will be home-office based and travel approximately 50%, primarily within your territory.


 



REQUIRED SKILLS:


 



10+ years selling enterprise software into large organizations
 


 


5+ years selling a data center-based product set (virtualization, systems management, server operating systems, BSM, storage software) from a software (vs. hardware) perspective


 


 


 


Ability to manage a deal from a financial perspective, focusing on the CEO’s business drivers, rather than just features and functionality


 


 


 


Ability to work beyond the immediate horizon in seizing upon business opportunities for Novell that present themselves within the sales process


 


 


 


Ability to consistently deliver large, strategic deals


 


 


 


Strong track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales objectives


 


 


 


Ability to operate high within a client organization


 


 


 


Comfortable working closely with a variety of channel partners in “sell with” model
