Description

Our client, a growing SaaS company, is looking for a Director of IT to be responsible for the technical infrastructure underlying both customer-facing production systems as well as internal applications used by our client’s personnel. This position requires extensive knowledge and experience running a global IT Infrastructure organization that provides the following technical services: Data Center Operations, Network Management (voice and data), Storage Management, Disaster Recovery, and IT Security.  The individual will lead a group comprised of individuals that are responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the operational infrastructure and networking environment for the our client’s (24x7X365 SaaS model).
Key Responsibilities
 
•         Participates as an integral and active member in the strategic planning process with ability to be hands on when need be.  
*   Maintains, directs and motivates a staff of professionals in System and Database Administration, Network Services and Operations to ensure all business objectives are met.
•         Provides advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.  Negotiates IT acquisition contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
•         Works collaboratively with team members to ensure that network services fulfill requirements and meet expected service level agreements.
•         Maintains and improves staff knowledge of network, software, system development, project management, programming languages, tools, techniques and customer service skills.
•         Establishes policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure compliance with accepted industry practice and protect I/S-controlled assets
•         Monitors and executes all automated production systems
•    Negotiates price discounts from vendors for computer and computer related equipment and software.
 

Qualifications and Characteristics

•         5+ years experience in managing functions and departments dealing with information handling, work flow and systems
•         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IS or related field is preferred
•         5+ years in a mentor/leadership role
•         Experience managing a 24/7x365 fully redundant and real time SaaS solution
•         Experience leading technology infrastructure initiatives
*   Experience working for both large and small organizations.  
•         Documented experience in the implementation and execution within a multi-platform, multi-disciplinary technology environment
•         Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
•         Must be passionate about technology and willing to embrace new opportunities
•         Must be a highly experienced creative manager with a demonstrated record of leadership, management, and technical success in information systems
